Rain Laane, MBA

CEO/Chairman of the Management Board, Estonian Health Insurance Fund, Estonia



Rain Laane (born 1971, Estonia) graduated in 1994 from the Tallinn Technical University (today TalTech) as engineer and achieved his MBA in 2003 at the Estonian Business School.

He started his professional career during high school as a programmer in1988 at the Small Enterprise “Kompuuter”. After selling few years American personal computers for few years, he joined the IBM in 1997 and moved in 2005 to another US big IT corporation Microsoft, where he served 12 years as the General Manager Estonia and General Manager Baltics.

In 2017 he was elected to lead Estonian Health Insurance Fund, which is the mutual public health insurance provider (public one) in Estonia with annual budget of 1.6 billion €. He has two passions – people and technology. This is a good combination, which helps keeping Estonia on e-innovation track in the Health sector as well.
